Turns out that the mirror was only down due to a newb admin mistake. Someone was installing a firewall to give us some extra protection… but ended up blocking EVERYTHING instead of just blocking select things.
So the mirror is online and will stay online, which is a good thing :)
Well, my super duper gallery mirror is offline. This means that thumb and image browsing may be significantly slower. Life sucks, then you die eh?
Good Idea: Keeping your kernel up to date to utilize the latest features and ensure that you are not open to exploits against older kernels.
Bad Idea: Assuming your newly compiled kernel will work, blowing away all your old important kernel things and rebooting… remotly.
